Peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday February 6, 2012 in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Jerome. Loving mother of Gail (Rick), Lenny (Bertha), Linda (Dennis), Diana (Wally), Joey (Diane), Lyle (Ruth), Charmaine (Glen), Cindy, Noella, Brenda (Vance), Dermon, Angie (Eric), Dale (Lisa), Troy (Crystal). Fondly remembered by her 28 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Survived by her sister Millie and her brother Joe. Predeceased by her sisters Esther and Olga. Also remembered by her many nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral Mass will be Celebrated on Wednesday February 8, 2012 at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church at 1 PM. Peacefully after a lengthy illness at his home on Thursday January 19, 2012 in his 78th year. Beloved husband of Shirley. Loving father of Rick and his wife Louise of Brooksville, Fla, Alan and his wife Sandra of Nobel, Gary and his wife Marg of Ingersoll. Cherished grandfather of Shawn and his wife Barb. Fondly remembered by his great granddaughter Sitara. Survived by his brother Bruce and his wife Barb, and sister in law Marie. Predeceased by his brother Jim. Suddenly on Monday January 16, 2012 in his 19th year.  Dear son of Amanda and Mike. Cherished brother of Ashley. Loving boyfriend of Summer. Remembered by Papa Dave (late grandmother Bev) and Nana Leona (Jack). Also remembered by his Aunt Tammy (Rod), cousins Jaydon and Cole. Fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends. Peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Monday January 9, 2012 in her 70th year. Beloved wife of Bill. Loving mother of Patrick (Kyla), Andrea (Martino), and as an infant, the late Thomas. Cherished grandmother of Anthony, Sarah, Gabriel, and Isaiah. Dear daughter of the late Gladys and Roy Moore. Fondly remembered by her siblings Donald (Marie), Cheryl (Domenico), Vivan, Doug (Peggy), and sister in law Ann. Predeceased by her brother Bill and as an infant Elizabeth. Dear sister in law of; Joyce (late Dennis), Everett (Florence), Charlie (Lillie), Doris (late Bill), Clara (late Jim), Frank (Sue). Fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Fondly remembered by his good friend Jeanette Toner. Loving father of Debbie Kempert and her husband Steve, Dianne Otto and her husband Randy, Dawn Marie Brooks and her husband Jamie, Darlene, and Dennis Doig. Cherished by his seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Survived by his sister Margaret Gibson. Predeceased by his sisters and brothers. Passed away Suddenly on Thursday December 22, 2011 in his 62nd year.  Dear son of the late Ron and Joan Burman.  Beloved husband of Sharon.  Loving father of Dawn (Rob), Jimmy Jr. (Niki), Shannon (Jessica).  Cherished grandfather of Kristen, Justis, Taylor, Josh, and Lainie.  Dear brother of Laura - Lee (Paul Cashin), Pattie (Howie).  Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and extended family.  Friends will be received at the Torrance Funeral Home (89 Bowes St. Parry Sound) on Wednesday December 28, 2011 from 1 - 2 PM.  The Funeral Service will follow at 2 PM in the Chapel.  Cremation has taken place.  If desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. 

 

                              

 

       John Percy Flowers

Passed away at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Monday December 19, 2011 in his 67th year. Much loved husband and best friend of Pat. Dear father of Janice Gratz (Joe) of Courtenay B.C. and John Jr. (Heather) of Mississauga. He will be sadly missed by family and friends. As per John's wishes, cremation has taken place. A gathering to honour John's memory will be held on Saturday January 7, 2012 at the Foley Agricultural Hall (60 Rankin Lake Rd.) from 1 - 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice West Parry Sound (6 Albert St. Parry Sound P2A 3A4). Our deepest thanks to the nurses, PSW's, and home care workers for their care and compassion. A special thank you to Barb and Jan our hospice workers who were always there when we needed them.

Suddenly on Tuesday December 13, 2011 at the South Lake Regional Hospital in her 56th year. Beloved wife of the late Kingsley. Loving mother of Ann, Jeff, and Gordie. Fondly remembered by her brothers George Mark (Rose), and Calvin Mark (Melina), and her sisters Karen (Dave Gibson) and Melinda (Jamie Jackson). Peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Sunday December 11, 2011 in his 80th year. Loving father of Duane and his wife Rose of Lethbridge, Alberta, Dixie Jensen Brown of Parry Sound, Laurie Robb and her husband Dave of Ahmic Harbour. Cherished by his grandchildren Natalie, Ryan, Vanessa, Alicia, Shannah, Chad, Shelley, Jonah, Kayla, Sarah, and his great grandchildren Hannah, Isaac and Jessica. Survived by his Brothers Ross Creasor(Erma), Murray Creasor (Diane), and Sister Jean Doves-Poehls. Predeceased by his wife Rosie Creasor and sister Shirley Anne Creasor. Fondly remembered by his nieces, nephews and extended family. The family would like to thank the West Parry Sound Health Centre staff for their excellent care and support for Kenneth and a sincere thank you to Jean Dove-Poehls for her outstanding help with Kenneth and his family during the time of his illness. Suddenly at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Monday December 12, 2011 in her 70th year. Loving mother of Loretta Markwick (late Boris Prenc) and Teresa Armstrong (Jim Rudolph). Cherished by her grandchildren Nicole Armstrong (Clay Holmes), Katie Armstrong, and Carla Prenc. Survived by her sister Phyllis and her brother Brian. Peacefully at Belvedere Heights Home for the Aged on Thursday December 8, 2011 with her family by her side in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Roland. Loving mother of Carole McQueen (John), Keith Michaud (Connie), Diane Griffin (Boyd), Dale Michaud (Willow), Debbie Jones (Stephen). Cherished by her 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Remembered by her sisters Leatrice Price, Marlene Farrows and her brother Donald Jennings. Predeceased by her brothers Brampton, Mervin, and Denton. Friends will be received at the Torrance funeral Home and Chapel (89 Bowes St. Parry Sound) on Monday December 12 from 10 – 11AM. Funeral service will follow at 11AM in the Chapel.       MACLEOD, Eunice Mary (nee Webster)

Passed away peacefully after a short illness, in her 85th year, at West Parry Sound Health Centre on Saturday November 26th , 2011, beloved wife of Donald MacLeod (1926-1984), mother of Daniel of Etobicoke, Ontario, Donna of Water Valley, Alberta, and Robert of Lake Orion, Michigan; mother-in-law of Ruth and Kelley, and David Hill. Will be greatly missed by her 9 grandchildren; David, Lauren, and Brandon MacLeod, Katherine, Nancy, and Alexander Hill, and Jack, Matthew and Lucas MacLeod. Eunice was born in Toronto, raised and schooled in Port Credit, and studied at the University of Toronto. She lived in Cooksville and worked as a Sales representative for Eaton's and Sears for many years before retiring to Healey Lake near Mactier, Ontario. A celebration of Eunice's life will be held at the Torrance Funeral Home in Parry Sound, Ontario on Saturday December 3rd, 2011 at 11 AM.         Florence May Royer

Peacefully at her home on Thursday November 17, 2011 in her 73rd year. Pre deceased by her husband David. Remembered by all her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and extended family. Friends will be received at the Torrance Funeral Home and Chapel (89 Bowes St. Parry Sound) on Monday November 21st from 12 – 1PM. Funeral service will follow at 1PM in the Chapel.         John Gilbert Duffy

of Parry Sound, Ontario and formerly of Vancouver, British Columbia, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 11, 2011 at the West Parry Sound Health Centre in his 83rd year. He is deeply missed by his daughter Artis (Jim ) Crawford of Parry Sound, Ontario , his son Bill Duffy (Tina Swan) of Surrey, B.C., grandchildren Vanessa ( Mitch) Hewson, Ariel Crawford (Charles Johnston), and Evan Crawford, his many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and his many friends. John is predeceased by his parents, Gilbert and Edith Duffy, brother Gordon Duffy and sister Dorothy McKellar. John was born in Chatham, Ontario. He earned a B.A. from the University of Manitoba, a M.Div.in Theology from Victoria University (University of Toronto), and a M.Sc. in Education from Niagara University, New York. He had many careers including Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, United Church minister, Educator, and Principal of Sprucedale School (Correctional Institution) (1969-1990). In his retirement years, John taught English as a Second Language in China, Poland, Prague, and Mexico. He was also involved in many volunteer organizations, including a volunteer at First United Church Mission Thrift Shop in Vancouver's east side. John loved nature, writing, music, canoeing, cross-country skiing, travelling (especially cruises), and hosting dinner parties. A Memorial Service for John will be held at the Torrance Funeral Home (89 Bowes St. Parry Sound) on Saturday November 19, 2011 from 1 – 3 PM with Family Eulogies at 2 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the Prostate Cancer Canada. (www.prostatecancer.ca).
