        Richard Stocco

 

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Richard (Dick) on Monday September 29, 2008, at the age of 69 with his wife and children by his side at the Toronto Western Hospital. Predeceased by his father Anthony and brother in law Fred Guistini. Survived by his wife Suzanne, children Toni (John), David, Kevin (Cathy), Leslie (Kevin), and step children Tanya Harvey and Paul Butcher. Grandpa to Amy, Lindsay, Michael, Christopher, Samantha, Kyle, Amanda and Alicia. Great grandpa to Ryder. Also survived by his mother Adriana and sister Linda. He retired from ball packaging in Burlington on July 1, 1995 where he worked for 36 years. Thank you to many doctors and nurses for their wonderful care and support at the West Parry Sound Health Centre and especially the Toronto Western Hospital. Visitation will take place on Saturday October 4, 2008 at the Torrance Funeral Home & Chapel (89 Bowes St., Parry Sound 746-4664) from 12pm-2pm. Service will be held at 2pm with a reception to follow. Cremation will take place at a later date. If desired, donations to the Toronto Western Hospital Neuro Department would be appreciated by the family.

 

 

    Phyllis Haskim

 

Peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Monday September 15, 2008 in her 85 th year. Loving mother of Geraldine Cormican (Don), Barb Fawcett (Bob), Kelly Haskim, Juli Szyperski, Bennie Haskim (Tina), Pennie and Terry. Fondly remembered by her 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also remembered by her friends Bonnie and Larry Stahls. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the Torrance Funeral Home & Chapel ( 89 Bowes St. , Parry Sound 746-4664).        Frank H. Kirk

 

Frank Kirk passed away peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on August 18th, 2008 in his 90th year of life. A veteran of WW II, Frank served his country with the Royal Canadian Artillery in England, the Perth Regiment in Italy, France, Belgium and Holland and with the Auxiliary Services in Germany (1945-1947). During the past sixty-one years he served his community with Scouts Canada, St. James Centennial United Church, Granite Masonic Lodge, Seguin Chapter of Royal Arch Masons and Waubuno Shrine Club. Loving husband of Helen Kirk of Parry Sound. Dear father of Malcolm and his wife Deborah of Parry Sound, Brenda of Toronto, Bonny and her husband Don Hobson of Guelph , and the late Charles Kirk. Sadly missed by grandchildren Joel and his partner Hanna Ulrichsen of Parry Sound, Meghan and her husband Remington Steele of Rosseau, Sarah and David Hobson of Guelph. At Frank's request cremation has taken place. A private family Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.      Margaret Elizabeth Bird

 

Peacefully at Belvedere Heights Home for the Aged on Sunday August 10, 2008 in her 92nd year. Dear daughter of the late Robert and Alice Rogers. Predeceased by her husband Robert (1975).  Dear friend of Bruce. Loving mother of Barbara Jackson and her husband Tom of Parry Sound, William Bird and his wife Kate of the U.K. Cherished by her grandchildren; Aubrey, Laura and her husband Jim, Tom, Camilla, and Henry. Predeceased by her brothers Jack and Ross and her sister Phyllis. Cremation has taken place. If desired, donations to Belvedere Heights Home for the Aged would be appreciated by the family.

 

 

       Jack Foley

 

Peacefully on Thursday July 31, 2008 at the West Parry Sound Health Centre in his 87th year.  Beloved husband of the late Doris. Loving father of Heather Smith and her husband Roger Ewin, Pete Foley and his wife Mary, Kathy Braet and her husband Mark, Janet Rosentreter and her husband Roy. Cherished by his 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A Private Family Service was held at the Torrance Funeral Home & Chapel ( 89 Bowes St., Parry Sound 746-4664) Cremation followed. If desired, donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated by the family.

 

 

       Doris Gougeon

 

Peacefully, in her daughters arms, at Belvedere Heights Home for the Aged on Saturday July 26, 2008 in her 73rd year. Beloved wife of the late Bill. Loving mother of Kathy Evoy and her husband Kirk, Andy Gougeon and his wife Anna, Gloria Stevenson and her husband Al. Cherished by her grandsons; Wade and Lisa, Jason and Leigh–Ann, Scott and Micheline, Andy and Kaila, Adam, Corry, Angie. Fondly remembered by her brother, sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends. Friends will be received at the Torrance Funeral Home (89 Bowes St., Parry Sound) on Tuesday July 29, 2008 from 12 - 2 PM. The Funeral Service will follow at 2 PM in the Chapel. Cremation to follow. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

 

 

        Ivy Ethel Worboys (Stevie)

 

Peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Wednesday July 23rd, 2008 in her 79th year. Beloved wife of the late Roy Worboys. Loving mother of Dennise Worboys, Steven Worboys and his wife Heather, Roger Worboys and his wife Doris, Rusty Worboys and his wife Peg, and Rory Worboys and his wife Sue. Cherished by her 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Survived by her sister Rose Ebbans. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday August 9th, 2008 at the Torrance Funeral Home and Chapel (89 Bowes, Parry Sound) at 11AM. If desired donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday July 1, 2008 in his 85th year. Forever in our hearts: wife Magdalene; daughter Angelika with sons Gregory and Nicholas; daughter Chris; daughter Dorothea with husband Jason and sons Jason and Lucas, and daughter Emma; son John with wife Karin; sister Marianne Nies; brother Wolfgang with wife Trudel; and all of his other relatives and friends in Germany and Canada. Funeral Services were held on Friday July 4, 2008 at the Church of the Christian Community in Vaughan where he was a life long member, followed by cremation.

Peacefully at the West Parry Sound Health Centre on Monday June 23, 2008 in her 75th year. Beloved wife of Rodney. Cherished by her nieces: Rosealea, Valerie, and Catherine; and her nephews: Stephen, Richard, and Hans. Predeceased by her sister Sheila Svendsen. Lifelong cottager on Rose Island, Georgian Bay . Friends will be received at the Torrance Funeral Home (89 Bowes St., Parry Sound) on Thursday June 26, 2008 from 2 – 4, and 7 - 9 PM. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday June 27, 2008 at 10 AM. Interment Carling Cemetery .
