Isobel MassonPeacefully on Sunday July 18, 2010 in her 87th year. Isobel was born on December 25, 1923 in Dundee, Scotland. Beloved wife of the late Daniel Masson. Loving mother of Neil and his wife Winnie, Kay and her husband Jim, Wendy and her husband Dale, Don and his wife Donna, Laurie and her husband Clarence. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Steven, Anne and her husband Scott, Melissa, Lee, Matthew, Christina, Steven. Cherished great grandmother of Daniel, Cameron, and Cory. Survived by her brothers Stan and Bob. A Celebration of Isobel's life will take place at the Torrance Funeral Home and Chapel (89 Bowes St. Parry Sound) on Saturday July 24, 2010 at 2 PM. Nicholas Joseph ScalePassed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at the West Parry Sound Health Centre, on June 22, 2010, in his 87th year. Nick was born September 23, 1923 in Calabria, Italy and grew up in Toronto. Nick and his wife Marg's early married years were spent in Heron Bay, Ontario. They made many lifelong friends and both enjoyed the rugged life in the northern wilderness. Nares Inlet (Pointe au Baril) became their family home. Together Marg and Nick fulfilled their dream of building and managing Springhaven Lodge, with their family. Nick enjoyed his Pointe au Baril life and involvement with the Lions club. Much of his time was spent with friends and family on Georgian Bay, fishing and hunting, or working in his garden. Beloved husband of the late Margaret, dear father of Donna (Dave), Dennis (Kay), Garry (Karen), Donald (Nancy) and Collette (Vic). Lovingly remembered by his nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Survived by his sisters Rose and Adelaine and brothers Alfred (Dorothy) and Michael (Mary). Predeceased by sister Claudia. In accordance with Nick's wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Following cremation, ashes will be placed at his favourite spot. Dr. Martin Howard Buck DCOctober 27, 1949 – May 10, 2010It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Martin Buck of Parry Sound, due to a heart attack. Marty will be sadly missed by his mother and step-father, Shirley and George Cross of Waterloo, his brother Norman Buck and his wife Diane of Kingston, his sisters Susan Murphy and her husband Ric of Snug Harbour, Sharon Watt and her fiancé Clare Sheppard of Barrie, Nola Buck and her husband David Park of Parry Sound, and his sister-in-law Sandi Buck of Brechin. He is also survived by former wives Lesley Moulds and Susan McKinney Buck. He will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends. Marty was predeceased by his father Austin Buck in 1976, and by his brother Murray Buck in 2009. Born in Toronto, Martin spent his formative years in Parry Sound. From an early age he showed commitment and enthusiasm for whatever he was involved in. He was a Boy Scout who became a Queen's Scout and then a Scout leader. He finished high school as an Ontario Scholar and attended the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, graduating as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 1978. Martin had practices in Hart Lake and Waterloo before returning to his hometown of Parry Sound, setting up an office just steps away from where his father had practiced Chiropractic for many years. Martin was a Brother in the Masonic Lodge and served as Worshipful Master in 1992/93. He was commissioned as an Auxiliary OPP Officer in 1998 and actively volunteered with the Parry Sound OPP Detachment. Martin played the organ and had a great tenor voice; gifts he kept to himself unless encouraged to share them. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and making people laugh. Martin was always ready with a joke and a genuine smile and will be lovingly remembered by many as a kind and gentle man. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm on Thursday May 27th, 2010 at Trinity Anglican Church in Parry Sound. Cremation has taken place and interment at Memory Gardens, Breslau ON will follow at a later date. Donations in honour of Martin may be sent to the Harvest Share Food Bank in Parry Sound or to a charity of your choice.
